Helmut Newton‘s photo exhibition ‘Private Property’ will be held at Galerie Sho Contemporary Art in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, from September 18, 2012. This show will present his work from the ‘Private Property’ series through three successive exhibitions. Each exhibition will show 15 original photographs. There are only 75 copies of the photo series existing in the world.
Helmut Newton was born in 1920 in Germany. Until his sudden death by car accident in 2004 in Los Angeles, he had pursued beauty of females around the globe for the half decade. His work has been featured in numerous fashion magazines such as Vogue, Elle, and Vanity Fair. He achieved his unique glamorous style of photography, which was not about short-lived and consumable fashion, but sophisticated and vernacular styles and attitudes of the models in that era.
