DOLCE & GABBANA

Founded in 1982 by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana in Milan, Italy. They debuted at Milan collection in 1985. Domenico was born in 1958, Sicily, familiar to fashion since his father had owned a sewing factory. Stefano was born in 1962, Milan. They both studied fashion at a technical school, and met through a fashion design studio, and began a brand together. Currently their brand produces womenswear, menswear, lingerie, eyewear, bags and perfumes. In 1994 they created their second line “D&G”, which was unified into their main line in 2012. The brand is known for it’s stereotypically Italian motifs and Sicilian designs, inspired by Domenico’s hometown. The black dress inspired by a lingerie design is popular as the brand’s iconic item.
