THOM BROWNE

The brand was founded in 2001, New York. Originally announced under the name “Thom Browne New York,” the company changed its name to Thom Browne from 2017. Designer Thom Browne was born in Pennsylvania, USA, in 1965. He studied economics at university and, after graduation, worked as an actor in Los Angeles. However, he didn’t succeed much as an actor, and had decided to move to New York, where he began to join the fashion industry. After some experience in retail, he joined “Club Monaco”, owned by Ralph Lauren, as a designer. Having worked with Ralph Lauren was a valuable experience for Thom, and he decided to start a brand under his own name. In 2004 he began showing in New York fashion week. In addition to his own collections, he also expanded his design activities including designing for the new Moncler line “Gamme Bleu” and Brooks Brothers’ “Black Fleece” (both of which are now closed). Their collection is now shown in Paris.
