GUCCI

Gucci was founded by Guccio Gucci in Florence, Italy in 1921 as a leather goods merchant. They now retail luxury leather goods such as bags and shoes, as well as apparel, jewellery, watches and cosmetics. Their iconic items include horsebit inspired by the world of horse riding, as well as bags with bamboo handles and their GG logo. In 1990, American designer Tom Ford unified the brand as creative director, associating the brand’s image to something more sensual and sexualized. In 1999 they joined PPR (now known as Kering). In 2015 Alessandro Michele was assigned creative director, gaining popularity from younger generations for his unique, vintage and borderless outlook on fashion.
